Margit Heinrichs Appointed Interim Early Years and Elementary Principal at AISL

On behalf of the American International School of Lagos (AISL), Nigeria, we are pleased to announce the appointment of the school’s Interim Early Years and Elementary School Principal for the year 2023-2024, following a wide-ranging global search led by Search Associates.

The successful candidate Margit Heinrichs will join AISL in August 2023.

Margit has both Canadian and Brazilian citizenship. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Languages (Portuguese and English) from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná, Brazil, a Graduate Diploma in Child Literacy from the same university and a Master’s degree in International Education and Administration from Endicott College, Beverly, USA. After teaching in Brazil for over 10 years, Margit moved to Kuwait and became Elementary Principal at the Dasman Bilingual School in 2011. She subsequently served as Elementary (or Lower) School Principal at the International School of Curitiba, Brazil; the Modern American School in Amman, Jordan; the International Community School of Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire; and most recently at the American School of Brasilia, Brazil.

Did You Know…?

Senior Associate Bill Turner’s international teaching career has taken him to Sudan, Italy, Qatar and the UAE as well as his home country of England. His very first teaching position was in rural Sudan.
