Launched at the start of the 2013 school year, ISC began serving Grades 1-4, with the plan to add one grade level each year, up to Grade 12. The school is pursuing authorization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, to provide all three levels of the program in tandem with the Austrian curriculum. ISC is also pursuing accreditation from several other prestigious agencies. Though Christian values are at the heart of ISC ' s character education program, the school is open to all students regardless of faith, religion, or non-religious background. Students will learn about global religious traditions while exploring their own spirituality. Currently, the majority of the 130 K-8 students are Austrian, but the remaining 30% represent 24 other nationalities. Students are overseen by a teaching staff of 21, half of whom are Austrian and half who hail from the U.K. and N. America.

That's our vision, and International School Carinthia keeps it in focus by offering an IB student-centered curriculum based on 21st century approaches to learning. Currently in our third year, ISC is an IB PYP Candidate School seeking authorization in autumn 2016. We have 130 students in grades 1-6 and will expand to offer grade 7 in 2016-17 with projected enrollment of 180 students. In 2022, we look forward to celebrating our first IB Diploma graduates.
