Search Associates Bangkok January Fair 2016

Senior Associate Michael Williams

On January 8-11, 2015, Senior Associates Michael Williams and Harry Deelman hosted the Bangkok January Job Fair. Held at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the Bangkok January Fair is an excellent opportunity for international schools to find high quality candidates.

With 112 international schools and 550 candidates from around the world in attendance, the Bangkok January Fair is one of Search Associates’ largest events. This year’s fair featured a strong crop of international schools from over 45 countries. More than half of the schools came from Asia, with plenty of others coming from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.

The four-day event featured a myriad of opportunities for candidates and recruiters to connect, including special presentations, receptions, and interviews. As always, the Royal Orchid Hotel was an excellent host for the fair, with multiple attendees praising its convenient location and supportive staff.

In addition to Michael Williams, Harry Deelman, and their excellent support staff, Senior Associates Ray Sparks, John Ritter, Nick Kendell, Jim Ambrose, and Ralph Jahr were also on hand to consult with attendees and offer professional consultation. Both candidates and recruiters valued the presence of these Associates at the fair, frequently seeking them out for advice. In addition, fair sponsors, Trinity Holding International, SCI Employee Benefits, and The College of New Jersey generously supported the fair. Also at the fair was Thomas Larson, the founder of Micro Phone Lens, displaying his invention, a new microscope lens that can be attached to smart phones and tablets.
