Academia Cotopaxi seeks an inspiring and experienced Elementary School Principal to lead our dynamic PK–5 learning community, including our early years program starting at 12 months. This role is a unique opportunity to shape a culture of inquiry, community belonging, and innovation aligned with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) and our school’s mission.

As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Elementary Principal will:

• Lead a collaborative faculty committed to growth, innovation, and student-centered learning.
  
  

• Champion a developmentally responsive approach to teaching and learning for children aged 12 months to Grade 5.
  
  

• Promote teacher development, data-informed instruction, and inclusive practices that support all learners.
  
  

• Foster a nurturing environment that prioritizes social-emotional learning, diversity, and community engagement.
  
  

• Work closely with counselors, coordinators, and specialists to ensure a safe, joyful, and high-impact educational experience.

• Contribute meaningfully to whole-school alignment, growth and development, and strategic direction.
  
  

We’re looking for a proven leader with:

• Prior experience leading a PYP division or similar international early childhood and elementary program. Experience with an early years Reggio-inspired model is a plus.
  
  

• Expertise in early years education and a deep understanding of the developmental needs of young learners.
  
  

• Passion for contemporary practices including student agency, inquiry-based learning, growth mindset, and technology integration.
  
  

• Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills as a leader, with a commitment to leading a community of students, families, and staff consistent in its positive, belonging culture.

• Advanced degree and administrative credentials; Spanish fluency or willingness to learn is a plus.
