Position Qualifications
- Possession of a Master’s degree in Education or a related field, along with the required teaching certification and qualifications.
- At least 10 years of successful classroom teaching and/or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated curriculum leadership within an IB-accredited institution—preferably at the PYP, MYP, or DP coordinator level or higher.
- Proven expertise in leading IB curriculum review and development in a diverse educational setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the capability to manage complex situations effectively.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Management
- Direct the curriculum review and development process for PYP, MYP, and DP in accordance with IB standards, practices and (SSG) SkillsFuture Singapore, EduTrust requirements.
Lead curriculum committees in setting goals, developing new courses, and revising existing curricula based on the annual review cycle.
- Analyse and summarise the results of the annual Curriculum Review process and provide a report to the Head of School, Academic Board and EXCOM according to a regular cycle.
Ensure that curriculum documentation is accessible and up-to-date for stakeholders.
- Oversee curriculum standards, review and coordinate with principals, coordinators, subject leads to implement revisions and submit to HOS and AB for approval.
- Establish and execute a structured curriculum map for specialised programs, such as the Foundation Programme and ELL.
- Collaborate as necessary with the Director of Marketing, Admissions and Communication as well as the Director of Operations to provide information, contribute to working projects.
- Other associated duties that may be determined by the Head of School that enhance or showcase the curriculum offering of CIS worldwide or within the sister schools within the Maple Leaf network.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to and lead where necessary academic sections of the strategic plan, develop SMART goals, and ensure consistent reporting on progress and impact.
Compliance
- In collaboration with Academic Board, Principals and IB coordinators, ensure that programme design and development, course review, course planning and course delivery meet SSG, IB and WASC requirements.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Manager to fulfil EduTrust and accreditation requirements, with a focus on curriculum documentation and review.
- Lead the WASC and IB authorisation processes, coordination, ensuring compliance with evaluation requirements, and develop action plans in collaboration with principals and coordinators.
- Provide updates on action progress towards annual academic goals for Group for Cognia system accreditation
- Complete any required curriculum reports and data as and when required.
- In collaboration with the Head of School, manage and monitor the performance of all external academic partners, including the partnership management process.
- Lead the alignment of curriculum practices with IB, EduTrust, and WASC standards, ensuring a high-quality teaching and learning environment.
Other Responsibilities:
Professional Development
- In collaboration with divisional principals and coordinators, implement and monitor professional development (PD) initiatives related to curriculum, planning of conferences, school-wide external or internal training day.
- Report on the divisional use of academic budgets for PD and ensure alignment with strategic teaching goals with the Head of School.
- Support the HOS with the oversight of curriculum-related budgets as determined by the Head of School ensuring effective use of funds.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of PD programs in supporting curriculum goals and report on outcomes to the Head of School and other relevant stakeholders.
Educational Technology (Ed Tech)
- Collaborate with the Ed Tech Coordinator to integrate and monitor the use of technology in curriculum delivery.
- Participate in the Tech and Digital Resource Committee in evaluating and adopting new technologies to support curriculum development.
Data and Survey Analysis
- Oversee student pulse perception surveys and teacher perception surveys, analyse feedback, and develop action plans with the Head of School for improvement and reflecting on their efficiency results.
- Coordinate with the Data Analyst to ensure survey results are visualised and presented in a meaningful way for curriculum planning.
- Provide reports to the principals on the key findings of the various surveys relevant to curriculum, teaching, learning and student well being
Leadership and Collaboration
- Serve on relevant committees (e.g., Academic Board, Exam Board) and work with the Executive Committee on academic matters.
- Supervise the PYP, MYP and DP coordinators to ensure achievement of curriculum-related goals.
- Act as a representative for academic programs in external relationships and liaise with external accreditation bodies and ensure alignment of the curriculum outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all curriculum-related policies by working alongside the Head of School.
- Maintain regular communication with principals, coordinators, and other leadership to ensure a cohesive academic environment aligned with the school’s mission.
- Ensure that assessment and examinations have been planned and budgeted for.
- In collaboration with the Academic Board, review the student and graduate academic outcomes as well as student service quality outcomes.
- In collaboration with the Academic Board, Principals and IB Coordinators, measure the performance of the outcomes and setting appropriate benchmarks and targets for the next academic year.
- In collaboration with the Academic Board, Principals and IB Coordinators, Analyze the performance of the outcomes and identify corrective actions for any gaps in performance of outcomes.
- Chair various Ad Hoc committees to support curriculum based school wide activities such as UN Week and Steam Fair
- Participate in school wide events and be an active member of the senior leadership of the school to the staff, students and community
