Head of School
The international School of IITA, Ibadan (Nigeria)

On behalf of the International School of IITA in Ibadan, Nigeria, we are pleased to announce the appointment of the school’s new Head, following a lengthy global search led by Search Associates.

Mr Vladimir Sousek will take over as Head of School in August 2024.     

Vladimir Sousek has both Bolivian and German citizenship.     He is unusual in having first qualified as a medical doctor, graduating from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China in 2010, before subsequently changing course after discovering that his true passion lay in education at school level.    He has a Master of Education degree in Education Management and Leadership from Beijing Normal University (in cooperation with the Institute of International Education at Stockholm University), a Master of Education degree in Advanced Teaching from the University of The People (in cooperation with the IBO), as well as a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School.    

After a variety of earlier leadership roles in international schools in China and Bolivia, including two years as Pre-School and Elementary Principal and then a year as Middle and High School Principal at Cochabamba American Cooperative School, he was appointed in 2018 to be Head of School at Noblesse International School in the city of Angeles in the Philippines.    He has grown the school from 80 to 320 students and managed its transition to becoming an all-through IB World School.

Vladimir and his wife (a Chinese citizen who is an IB teacher of Mandarin) have two daughters aged 6 and 12.    They are all eagerly looking forward to starting their new lives in Ibadan this summer.
