Search for new Superintendent, effective July 2017

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Search Committee and Board of Directors of the American School of Kaohsiung in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, I am pleased to announce that after a worldwide search which produced a large number of highly qualified candidates, Dr. Benjamin Ploeger has been appointed as Superintendent for the 2017-18 academic year.

Dr. Ploeger is currently Head of School at Eagle Ridge Academy Charter High School in Brighton, CO. Prior to his current position he was an Associate Principal in New Orleans, LA. Ben got his start in international education teaching math and earth science with the Peace Corps in Vanuatu in the SW Pacific.

Dr. Ploeger earned a Master of Education Degree and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York, USA. He also holds other graduate degrees from Xavier University of Louisiana.

The Search Committee, Board of Directors and Search Associates would like to thank all candidates who expressed interest in the Kaohsiung American School Superintendent search, and to everyone who assisted and supported the search process.
