A Legacy of Opportunity: The 2025 Cambridge Job Fair

From January 24-27, 2025, Search Associates hosted the Cambridge Job Fair at the Cambridge Regency Hyatt in Cambridge, MA, bringing together nearly 400 attendees from around the world in pursuit of international teaching and leadership opportunities. As one of the longest-running and most respected job fairs in international education, Cambridge continues to be a cornerstone event for both candidates and schools looking to make meaningful connections.

A Fair Built on Legacy

This year’s fair held special significance as it was the first time in 34 years that our founding member, John Magagna, was not in attendance. The Cambridge Fair was one of the first recruitment fairs he established over three decades ago, and its continued success is a testament to his passion for connecting top educators with international schools. Though he was deeply missed, his legacy lived on through his daughter and CEO, Jessica Magagna, who now manages the event, and through his grandchildren, including Jessica’s 15-year-old daughter, who, alongside several of her nieces and nephews, was actively involved in the fair. Their presence made this truly a family event, reinforcing the sense of community that has always defined Search Associates.

Alongside Jessica and her family, many members of the Search Associates Executive Team were present, along with several Senior Associates, and Leadership Consultants ensuring that candidates and schools received top-level support throughout the event. Their collective expertise and dedication helped make this year’s fair a seamless and successful experience for all who attended.

Invaluable Experiences for Educators

For many candidates, the Cambridge Fair was their first step toward an international career. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in workshops designed to help them navigate the transition into global education, covering topics such as:

  • Effective Interviewing Strategies – Preparing candidates to make a strong impression
  • Understanding Contracts – Breaking down key terms and considerations for employment abroad
  • Living and Teaching Overseas – Practical advice on making a successful transition to life in a new country
  • Additionally, a specialized workshop for Aspiring Heads, led by members of our Consulting Team, provided invaluable insights for educators looking to step into leadership roles.

Recruiters and school leaders repeatedly emphasized the importance of in-person job fairs, citing how meeting candidates face-to-face provides a level of insight and connection that cannot be replicated in a virtual setting. Many reported that some of their best hires have come from in-person fairs, reinforcing the unique value of these events in building strong school communities.

A Grateful Acknowledgment

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the candidates, schools, and staff who made the Cambridge Job Fair 2025 such a resounding success. The enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved reaffirmed that international education is not just about finding a job—it’s about joining a global community dedicated to learning, growth, and cultural exchange.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to providing the best recruitment opportunities for educators and schools. We hope to see you at a future Search Associates Global Job Fair.
