In 1990, Founding Director John Magagna started Search Associates because he was passionate about finding and placing exceptional educators in the classroom. This goal, along with the provision of a high level of support to candidates and schools, is now carried on by his daughter, Jessica Magagna, in her role as President, with the assistance of our 18 Senior Associates located around the world. When John was asked how the company began, he remarked,
"I didn't know much about what I was to be doing, but I knew one thing: Work hard. That's it. The most important thing to me, and my mission, was always to have outstanding teachers in the classroom."
In celebration of the organization's 25th anniversary, all Senior Associates, their assistants, and company staff traveled to Garmisch, Germany to attend the annual company meeting. (See photo below.) The Search Associates "family," with many years of experience in international education, is the key to the company's extraordinary success. Each Associate works tirelessly to carry out the goals of the company, finding talented educators and providing support and guidance to all member schools and candidates.
This year, Search Associates was also lucky enough to celebrate another banner year, with 3,142 educators finding jobs by the end of the 2014-2015 recruiting year. Of the 48 completed administrative searches, for which Search Associates was contracted to assist, 30 were Head of School appointments. Search Associates looks forward to another year of helping and supporting schools around the world.
