The award-winning region is praised for its great climate, green spaces, friendly people, and progressive and safe social environment. Approximately 1,000 K-12 Colombian students, attend the bi-lingual school whose curriculum emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, an entrepreneurial and business mindset, and participation in social action. Colegio Canadiense's current staff includes 10 from N. America and 50 from Colombia.

Colegio Canadiense de Colombia accepts a wide variety of teachers and teaching couples, including those with or without dependents and non-teaching spouses. They would even consider hiring outstanding teachers not yet certified and newly-certified teachers with limited experience. Unpaid internships could be arranged, and work visas in Colombia can be issued up to the age of 75!

Colegio Canadiense's appealing benefits package includes airfare, local health insurance, and a 50% tuition benefit as well as a housing and furniture allowance. The school also contributes 12% to each teacher's retirement plan. Savings for a teaching couple with two children could reach $12,000 while a single a teacher with one dependent could save up to $3,000 per year. A family of four could make-do on one salary, but the school mentions that there are local opportunities for non-teaching spouses as well!
