Empowering Educators: Highlights of the 2025 CEESA Leadership Conference

Brian (R) with CEESA Exec. DirectorsThis March 13-15, Search Associates was honored to participate in the annual Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA) Conference, held at the beautiful Hotel Le Meridien Lav in Split, Croatia. Senior Associate Brian Lettinga represented Search Associates, engaging in meaningful conversations with school leaders from across the region, strengthening existing relationships, and forging new connections that reflect our ongoing commitment to international education.

Under the inspiring theme, "Igniting Leadership: Every Voice, Every Role," the CEESA Leadership Conference brought together over 400 educators, leaders, and innovators from 92 schools and organizations worldwide. This dynamic gathering provided an invaluable opportunity to explore the latest trends in education, share best practices, and collaborate on strategies that empower educators and students alike. Thought-provoking keynotes and interactive, teacher-led workshops enriched the experience, leaving attendees with renewed energy and actionable insights to bring back to their schools.

Renowned educator and author Myron Dueck delved into the evolving landscape of assessment, with a special focus on the role of generative AI in education. His session emphasized the importance of using AI as a tool to amplify student voice, enhance engagement, and support meaningful assessment practices—while maintaining the irreplaceable human element in teaching and learning.

Ewan McIntosh, Founder of NoTosh and a global leader in design thinking for education, delivered an engaging keynote titled "The 360° Leader." Through his unique storytelling and interactive approach, McIntosh highlighted the power of leadership at all levels, encouraging educators to embrace change, strengthen collaboration, and empower those around them. In addition to his keynote, McIntosh led sessions on negotiation, persuasive communication, and strategic implementation, equipping participants with practical tools to drive innovation in their schools.
