International Teaching in Mexico

Search Associates welcomes new member school John F. Kennedy The American School of Querétaro (JFK), which offers a pre–K–12, bilingual, bicultural education to Mexican and international students. An International Baccalaureate (IB) World school delivering the Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes, JFK challenges its students and staff to think global and act local to make a positive impact on their communities. The school is proud to add,

As a certified green school, all the magic happens every day on a beautiful, five-acre, open campus situated just outside the city where you can truly enjoy the region’s famous climate.

Situated within the heart of colonial Mexico, Querétaro possesses a fascinating combination of Mexican tradition and globalization. You can walk in the colonial downtown and witness centuries old traditions and nightly cumbias before taking an Uber to grocery shop at Costco. It is a city of beautiful contradictions ready to challenge and make you think different.

In addition to being authorized by the Mexican Secretary of Education and the IB Organization, JFK is accredited by AdvancED/Cognia. Currently enrolled are 1,416 students of 29 nationalities, with 76% from Mexico and 10% from North America. The JFK curriculum is based on inquiry-based learning.

Student life is enriched by JFK’s extra-curricular offerings, some of which are musical and dance performing groups, drama, ecology activities, robotics, chess, capoeira, hip hop, yoga, French, German, Chinese. Students may also train in soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and field, and Psychomotor, which the school’s website describes:

JFK’s Psychomotricity Program focuses on teaching children to recognize their major body segments and their exploration of the possibilities of movement. . . It is based on the concept that mastering the body is the first condition for mastering behavior.

JFK hires certified teachers. They consider teaching couples and outstanding newly-certified candidates. Teachers must hold their academic degree in the subject they will be teaching.

JFK’s benefits package includes housing plus utilities, airfare twice a year for home leave. Worldwide health, along with life insurance, is fully covered. JFK supports professional development and encourages further preparation to all of our colleagues. The school says,

We welcome you on your journey to discover the best version of yourself through international education. When you join the JFK Team, you join a group of talented educators who lead, serve, and create beauty so all students have the opportunity to discover and achieve the extraordinary inside themselves.
