In November 2018, Search Associates will launch its new Latin America Fair in Panama City, Panama. We are excited to present this opportunity to serve the needs of schools in the Latin American and Caribbean regions. The fair is open to teachers and administrators who have a strong desire to live and work in this vibrant and colorful part of the world.
The fair organizers for Search Latin America are Senior Associates Jennifer and Bob Imholt, who also run the San Francisco Fair. The Imholts worked in international schools in Venezuela, Paraguay and Colombia over the course of eleven years and feel a commitment to helping to bring excellent educators to our member schools in the region.
Many recruiters in attendance at recent regional conferences from Tri-Association, AASSA and LAHC have expressed the wish for a fair that would be closer to home. Such conversations with recruiters and school heads have revealed a need for an earlier start, especially with the hiring season slowly trending earlier each year.
Candidates also express a desire to interview face to face with the nearly 70 member schools from around the region. Search has long had a goal to better serve our member schools and candidates in the region, and we look forward to this new opportunity to bring people together.
The Latin America Fair is open to candidates of all experience levels. Schools in Latin and Central America and the Caribbean run a variety of curriculum types from American, Canadian and British curriculum to the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program and are seeking teachers from all backgrounds. The region is home to many unique member schools, large and small, which are hidden gems and special communities in which to work.
Panama City is a convenient, centrally located hub for travel within the region. Easily accessible, and reasonably priced, this city is a great location that truly bridges North and South America. The Fair will be held at the Sheraton Grand Panama, which is located about 15 minutes from the airport and will be an excellent venue.
