Transform Your Teaching Career at IBSC in Central Taiwan!

IBSC Stands for Inquisitive, Balanced, Spirited, and Compassionate

Accredited by both the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, IBSC delivers the California Common Core Standards, and apart from Chinese language and several Taiwanese Social Studies, courses are taught in English. The school currently enrolls 117 students. About 57% of the students and 58% of the teaching staff are Chinese. IBSC aims at cultivating students to be inquisitive, balanced, spirited, and compassionate in learning.

IBSC offers a variety of after school programs for students to choose from and for teachers to share their personal passions and interests. Depending on the qualifications of teachers on staff, courses such as Environmental Science, Percussion Ensemble, International Human Rights Law, Literacy Support, Introduction to Writing for the Arts are offered. In addition to English, math, and homework support, students may participate in Yearbook, Fitness, Theatre, Creative Arts & Design, Public Speaking, Podcasting, English Debating, Student Council, Robotics Programming, Yoga, and Tabletop Games.

As member of the International Thespian Society, IBSC is a proud producer of theatre in Taiwan! An after-school club on Wednesday afternoons trains and prepares students in Grades 1-6 to perform a fully student-run, one-act show, with high school students on hand to support sound, lights, and stage management. Students in Grades 7-12 then prepare for The Individual Events (IE) Theatre Festival. Competitions include acting performances, musical theatre performances, musical theatre dance, writing, costume construction, makeup, lighting scenic design, playwriting, sound design, short film, theatre marketing, and more!

IBSC hires certified single and married teachers, including couples with a non-teaching spouse and newly certified candidates. Teachers need not hold an academic degree in the subject they will be teaching. As per government regulation, those up to the age of 65 may obtain a work visa.

The international teaching benefits package includes an annual housing stipend and free tuition for all dependents. IBSC offers professional development opportunities to its staff. Local health insurance is covered, with the employee paying a percentage.
